Tommie Sjef Grape 2020 Lambic/Geuze - 75 CL

Our classic. A wild ale re-fermented with red wine grapes.Almost every year the brewers release a new vintage. This year the brewers took a different approach in creating Druif. We started with a blend of older beers (around 2 years in barrel), re-fermented with Kékfrankos grapes, and aged for quite some time in our oldest foudre. Before bottling, the brewers blended this base with spontaneously fermented Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grape wine that the brewers made in 2018 and aged in smaller Bordeaux barrels.Druif 2020 has notes of elderflower, blackberry and slight strawberry, but also a hint of creamy oak and a little earthiness. In taste it has a really balanced wine-like acidity, good fruitiness and a lot of spice/earthiness with a little funk.
