It's for houseofbeers.nl of great importance that alcohol is sold in a responsible way, also online. Houseofbeers.nl wants absolutely no alcohol to sell to young people under eighteen years old.

This document provides insight into the way houseofbeers.nl gives substance to this responsible distance selling. This satisfies the requirement set out in Article 20A paragraph 1 sub b of the Alcohol Act that one must have a method that guarantees that the alcoholic beverage is only delivered to the addressee's address or to a distribution point (PostNL collection point or houseofbeers.nl collection address) and that the age of the person to whom the alcoholic beverage is supplied is determined and that this method is also used.

This document is always up to date. This means that the document is updated with every change in the situation and is revised annually. The document contains a description of:

• the process used to monitor the age limit and meet applicable obligations;
• the manner in which this method is made known and clear to employees;
• the control of correct compliance with the process and the manner in which any corrections are implemented.

1. Process (in accordance with Article 5.2, paragraph 1 under a and b of the Alcohol Decree)

Order via the webshop

• The webshop/online store of houseofbeers.nl is equipped with all legally determined age checks, for example, a pop-up is launched immediately upon visiting our webshop with the question "To be allowed to visit the webshop of houseofbeers.nl you must be 18 years or older. By clicking on 'Agree' you declare that you are 18 years or older"
• On the website of houseofbeers.nl (and other social media channels, Instagram, snapchat, facebook etc) the NIX18 logo always visible. If you click on this logo, it will navigate you to the NIX18 website ( nix18.nl )
• At checkout we ask again to confirm that the recipient and also the buyer is 18 years or older.
• Method of preparing for shipment, all shipping labels are provided with an 18+ sign so that the delivery person as recipient can see that this is an 18+ shipment.

Inspection upon delivery

• At the time we send the webshop order, we inform our chain partner (PostNL) that an identification requirement applies for the delivery of the package in question. This means that you must show valid identification to the parcel deliverer to prove that you are 18 years or older. In addition, a signature for receipt is required. In the absence of the recipient, the package will be delivered to a PostNL parcel point, where the customer can collect the package by showing his identification (for identity and age).
• When physically collecting at our collection point (Prior van Milstraat 2, 5402 GH, Uden) the employee will check identity (and age in case of doubt). There is always an employee with an SVH present.
  
• At this moment all employees of houseofbeers.nl in possession of an SVH, if the delivery is made by the customer himself, in case of doubt the identification will be checked at the door of the addressee customer.

2. Information provision to employees (in accordance with Article 5.2, paragraph 1 under c of the Alcohol Decree)

• All employees of houseofbeers are in possession of a SVH. For the incidental delivery every employee is informed that in case of doubt, the door of the customer will be checked.
• Physical pick-up locations have been notified to check the identity of the customer. This is so that the correct order is delivered to the correct customer and the age is automatically checked in this process.
• Chain partner PostNL informs its employees that all shipments with the 18+ logo must be checked for identity and age. This information is automatically provided on the PostNL label in the ordering process.

3. Control (in accordance with Article 5.2, paragraph 1 under d of the Alcohol Decree)

• Once a year, in October, the secured method is checked. During the team meeting, the agreements are re-evaluated and improved where necessary.
• Once a year, in November, the guaranteed working method is checked by sending a shipment that is accepted by our employee to check that this process is guaranteed by our chain partners.
• If employees do not adhere to the procedure, measures are taken to ensure that these agreements are still complied with. This may involve repeating the induction process in which the management employee accompanies the employee.
• If an employee of our chain partner PostNL does not adhere to the procedure, measures will be taken to ensure that these agreements are still met. This is done by filing a complaint with our account manager.
