Our barley wine 'Don Aart' is aged for 12 months in a barrel from the Beek distillery, where Tawny Port and then their whisky were first matured. It is then blended with Don Aart from separate Lambay whiskey and port casks. The aroma is dominated by the Beek whisky, with warm caramel notes and a hint of red fruit from the port. The palate is full, layered, and powerful—without harsh edges—with an exciting balance of malt, whisky warmth, and fruity smoothness.
