Orval Tasting Glasses - 20 CL

PLEASE NOTE: The ABV of this beer varies, in the United States 6.9% is used. The Orval brewery produces only one beer for sale, a top-fermented beer that continues to ferment in the bottle. It is 6.2% alcohol. This beer is brewed exclusively from spring water, barley malt, hop cones, candy sugar, and yeast. Its aroma and fine taste are more attributable to the hop cones and yeast than to the malt used. What is special about Orval beer is that hops are added at two different stages of the production process. In the brewhouse, a large quantity of very fine hops is added first – this provides the well-known bitter taste and is why the beer has a longer shelf life. Later, hops are added again in the aging cellars. This is the so-called British ‘dry hopping,’ which produces the delightful aroma that completely captivates even the most carefully forewarned taster. In the tasting room, Orval beer and cheese make a very good pair: the unique shape of the bottle and glass, the design of the label, the coasters, and other promotional material – it is all a legacy from the early 1930s.
