Wrench Indulgence Ten Stout - 37.5 CL

Indulgence 10 is composed of several imperial stout bases and has been aged in various barrels and brands. The first half of the blend has been aged in Appleton rum and rhum barrels. 'What on earth is the difference between rum and rhum?' Well, rum is made from the molasses produced during the processing of sugarcane. Rhum, however, is made from freshly pressed sugarcane juice specifically grown for the rhum and is only made on the island of Martinique. Stouts aged in rhum barrels therefore have a slightly less strong molasses flavor, but are just as intense as other rums. The second half of the blend has been aged in Heaven Hill bourbon and Weller barrels. These were the first Weller barrels the brewers used, and the brewers loved them. The beers turned out fudgy, complex, and had notes of dried fruit like some red wines.The complete blend for Indulgence 10 is very complex due to the use of different, but exquisite, barrel types. This beer pours almost flat and has a very low carbonation, to give you the best experience. This brings out the delicate flavors of the barrels and the beer. The aroma starts with a hint of molasses and rum, then quickly changes to coffee and bourbon vanilla. Some fine red wine or ruby port also joins in. The taste is intense, rum-forward, wine-like, and spicy. After the big flavors, notes of licorice follow. The mouthfeel is oily, fudgy, well-rounded, and warm. The beer finishes dry, and you will want to enjoy your next sip.
