La Trappe

For this collaboration, La Trappe Quadrupel matured for 20 months in oak barrels that previously held Château de l'Horte's Reserve Speciale. After the maturation of La Trappe Quadrupel in these barrels, a very flavourful and refined beer was created. The taste is rich, full-bodied, and smooth. Recognizable elements from the La Trappe Quadrupel, the Reserve Speciale, and the oak wood form a perfect balance. Malty caramel notes are in fine harmony with aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, and laurel. As the beer warms, notes of vanilla and wood tannins become more prominent.
