La Trappe Practice what you preach Barrel Aged 2021 Quadrupel - 75 CL

This barrel-aged beer represents a collaboration between tradition and innovation. A place where monks meet punks. Brewed and barreled within the walls of the Abbey of Our Lady of Koningshoeven in the fall of 2020. The name comes from the desire of both breweries to leave the world better than they found it. That is why part of the proceeds are donated to Made Blue. This is an initiative that makes clean drinking water available to everyone for whom it is not self-evident. With the total donation, Made Blue can provide almost five thousand people in developing countries with clean drinking water for ten years. The barrel-matured Practise What You Preach has matured for 9 months on Scotch Whisky barrels. The beer has a dark copper colour with a fine and soft head, which remains present in the glass for a long time. The influence of American hops is clearly present in the aroma, the floral aromas have been surprisingly well preserved during maturation. In the background, the Whisky also reaches the nose in a subtle way. The beer starts sweet and slowly changes to spicy with a pleasant bitterness. The taste is reminiscent of licorice, with influences of Whisky, stone fruit, oak and vanilla. The beer has an alcohol-warm aftertaste with a soft tingling in the throat.
