Chapter Watou Double - 33 CL

In our brewing process for the 7.5° Dubbel, the brewers use extra winter malt.This increase in malt content results in a higher alcohol percentage, providing the yeast that feeds on the sugars in the malt with a feast of grander proportions.By adding sugar, also known as 'Belgian candy,' the brewers can increase the yeast's activity and give the beer a second fermentation in the bottle, naturally carbonating the beer.This results in the beer having a beautiful and large head.This fine Dubbel has a rich malt aroma of malt, yeast, dark fruit, and spices; flavors of sweet malt, yeast, caramel, dark fruit, raisins, and spices, with a hint of pleasant bitterness, filling the gap between our 6° Pater and the 9° Prior.
