The bitterness of the Tripel hops allows the blond beer to mature extensively in wooden barrels, and the well-rounded flavors of the wood and bourbon give this beer a unique and lasting finish. The wood also gives the Tripel hops a darker color, which contributes to the experience of enhancing a beer's flavor profile through barrel aging.
