In 2010, the brewers introduced a groundbreaking beer with our first-ever barrel-aged stout. Our Bourbon County Rare Stout brand highlighted the critical role barrels play as an ingredient. This iconic release set a new standard for barrel-aged beer. ⁠⁠ This year, in honor of our barrel-aging 10th anniversary, the brewers are reintroducing that exceptional release. This beer’s journey began with barrels that once held the rare and highly sought-after King of Kentucky Bourbon. After a full year of aging in these exceptionally nuanced barrels, our Imperial Rye Stout began to capture the essence of Brown-Forman’s remarkable craftsmanship and legacy. But the brewers didn’t stop there. Next, the brewers transferred the aged stout to another set of King of Kentucky Bourbon barrels, allowing it to mature for another full year. A testament to our heritage in barrel aging, this 2024 Bourbon County-branded Rare Stout showcases a regal barrel expression with intricately woven caramels, rich cocoa, and a luxuriously long finish.
