In 2013, the brewers created our very first, exclusive Chicago member of the Bourbon County Brand Stout Family. Proprietor's Stout was born out of immense gratitude to our city and to celebrate the birthplace of our brewery. This year marks the debut of a barleywine bearing the owner's coveted name. Brewer Colby Magratten fell in love with the popular Mexican spoon candy and has created a recipe using our bourbon barrel-aged barleywine, combining tamarind, lime, whole Guajillo chili peppers, and piloncillo. Chicago and the people who call it home are a perpetual source of inspiration for everything the brewers do. Bourbon County Brand Proprietor 2024 Barleywine is a direct reflection of that inspiration and unlike anything the brewers have ever done before. With a subtle sweetness of dried fruit, refreshing lime zest, and a wonderfully warming finish, this barleywine is decidedly Chicago.
