The Struise Brewers Pannepot Distillate Vintage 2010 - 20 CL

At Struise, the brewers love all the beers the brewers make. However, if there is only one ship that the brewers can rightly call our 'flagship', it is Pannepot. After a lifetime of brewing tasty, but 'safer' beers, this was our first step into a world full of extremities and it carries a great responsibility in making us what brewers are today. Named after the fishing boats on which men risked life and limb to feed their families, this 'Old Fisherman's Ale' is somewhere between a Belgian strong dark beer and a stout. It pours a luscious dark brown with a creamy brown head. Every sip hits you with complex flavors of roasted bitterness and deep caramel sweetness. With all its dark and strong complexity, this beer lends itself perfectly to all types of barrel aging, and that is exactly what the brewers have done. We have matured it in different barrels, including bourbon and calvados. Don't miss it and try it soon! As of 2016 the alcohol is 12%.
