De Kromme Herring Marbendill Porter - 33 CL

Marbendill is the result of a really fun day at the brewery with Stulli and Hylgur from Borg Brugghús in Iceland. As with all our collaborations, the recipe is a little strange. This time, the brewers took a Baltic porter-inspired base but fermented it 100% with Brettanomyces yeast. The result is an interesting beer with a complex palette of red fruit, chocolate, dark roasted notes, and spices. Strange, in a good way, just like the Marbendill himself, the half-human/half-seal creature rumored to roam the Icelandic waters.
