St.Bernardus Prior 8 is a traditional abbey beer, sometimes referred to as a dark tripel. The original recipe dates back to the period when the brewers still brewed under license (1946-1992). It was awarded 'World's Best Dark Belgian Style Dubbel' at the World Beer Awards, meaning it's the best Dubbel beer in the world. St.Bernardus Prior 8 is chestnut brown, exudes a deep red glow, and presents a beautiful rounded head. The beer stands out with its fruity aroma, reminiscent of tree fruits like red apples, but complemented by exotic accents of figs and dates. The whole is perfectly rounded off by impressions of caramel and roasted malt. The full flavor is equally malty and fruity, achieving the perfect balance between bitter and sweet.
