BrewDog AB:23, AB:24, AB:27 and AB:26 Stout - 33 CL

Our Abstrakt series showcases unique beers, brewed or blended to the peak of our abilities. Each release is unique and brewed only once! Our latest Abstrakt release is an American barley wine that has spent nearly two years hidden away in bourbon whisky barrels at our Ellon cask store. During that time, the beer has undergone such an incredible change in flavour from the first fill of oak, expanding and rounding out the profile it started with. And there was quite a load of it – Pale, Munich, Cara, Crystal and Brown malts providing a rich, caramelly backbone for the wood elements to interact with. AB:23 is a monument to the effects of time and the interplay between an American malt bill and the pride of its distillers. Bourbon maturation lifts the barleywine to 11.5% ABV and rich heights of candied orange, fruitcake, cranberry and sherry characteristics, all wrapped in a toffee aftertaste underpinned by warming alcohol. Like our other Abstrakt releases, enjoy it now or cellar for a few more years to develop – the choice is yours!
