Gær: UK-Ale Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Alex who grew up in San Francisco on the West Coast of the United States, in the great state of California. A state known for The Beach Boys, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and big, juicy oranges. Alex grew up to be a happy boy in general, but he was always happiest around Christmas time. You see, every Christmas, Alex’s parents would give him a small, foil-wrapped chocolate orange. It wasn’t a real orange, but it was shaped like an orange, only made of orange-flavored chocolate. And when you peeled off the foil, you would find delicious slices of chocolate shaped like orange slices. So incredibly delicious. Yes, Christmas was indeed the best time of year. Many, many moons later, through the twists and turns of life, Alex found himself in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he and his wife were running a small brewery. Something he could never have even remotely imagined as a little boy in San Francisco. But the memory of those delicious chocolate oranges was something he carried with him from sunny California to cold Copenhagen. So when Amager Bryghus teamed up with Alex for a joint Christmas beer, it was only natural that the brewers would try to recreate those delicious chocolate oranges together, using a rich and filling Imperial Stout as the base.
