La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 31 - Including original packaging 2018 - 37.5 CL
BATCH 31 was distributed as follows: Type BATCH Malbec 75% New Oak Medium Toast 20% New Oak High Toast 5% Batch 31 presents itself in striking amber brown tones. The main ingredient for this batch is aged for two years in barrels used for the production of Malbec, a French red wine from Cahors. Malbecs are powerful, full-bodied wines with a deep, dark color – they are almost black. At first impression, the aroma of this Quadrupel is very complex, with hints of ripe black fruit (blueberry, blackberry, plum and cherry), vanilla and sweet caramel. New flavors are constantly emerging. This batch has a winey taste, with a good dose of oak. The alcohol is balanced by the sweetness and mild bitterness of the beer. The classic Quadrupel flavor remains in the background. Overall, this results in a spicy flavor palette. As the beer warms, the oak flavor becomes stronger and the aftertaste becomes drier and more tannic. This keeps the beer sufficiently bitter.
