BATCH 18 (blended in October 2014) was distributed as follows: Type BATCH Moscatel 50% Brandy 17% Oloroso 16.5% New Oak High Toast 16.5% This Oak Aged Batch 18 is the smaller brother of Batch 17 in terms of base and has resulting in a copper brown color and a mixture of nutmeg and Quadrupel aromas. In addition to the clear presence of grapes, you also clearly recognize date and vanilla flavors. This batch has a smokier flavor because it uses newly burned wood. However, the wood tannins are less prominent. This makes the aromas softer and creamier, giving the consumer a complex yet very accessible taste. Characteristics of nutmeg: fruity: orange blossom, honey, light orange, raisin; flowery: rose, geranium, lily; spicy: tobacco leaves, cider, cloves.
