La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 17 2014 - 37.5 CL
La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 17 2014 - 37.5 CL
BATCH 17 (blended in July 2014) was distributed as follows: Type BATCH Moscatel 68% Brandy 8% Oloroso 8% New Oak Medium Toast 8% New Oak High Toast 8% This Oak Aged is copper brown in color and the aroma is a mixture of nutmeg flavors and Quadrupel. In addition to sweet honey, flowery meadows with almond and caramel, the brewers also distinguish the scent of muscat wine and of course that of oak. This Quadrupel is also aged in barriques, most of which are roasted on the inside. Of all the batches released so far, this batch has the smokiest and fullest flavor. The influence of Oloroso and Brandy casks also has a clear side effect. Ultimately, the complex taste is full, smooth and balanced. The aftertaste is that of wood tannins, smoke, almonds, dates and caramel, the latter giving this batch a bittersweet touch.
