La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 15 2013 - 37.5 CL
La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 15 2013 - 37.5 CL
BATCH 15 (blended on October 24, 2013) was divided as follows: Type barrels in BATCH Oloroso 85% New Wood Medium Toast 15% This Quadrupel, batch no. 15, was aged for a longer period (2 years) in barriques of Oloroso. Oloroso is a household name in the wine world, thanks to its specific qualities. In addition, brewers can recognize vanilla, almond, honey blossom and caramel. The aroma of this oak is therefore very complex. It has a rich, mature and powerful taste. Still, it's smooth and creamy, and this batch may be the smoothest yet produced. The taste buds are not only touched by the 'walnutty' oloroso. Because the wine is slightly acidic, the alcohol feels warm. The oak barriques have slightly tempered the bitterness of the Quadrupel and retained the influences of the oloroso. This oak contains less carbon dioxide, but does provide sufficient sparkle and, in addition to that rich taste, also gives a fuller feeling.
