La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 14 2013 - 37.5 CL
La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 14 2013 - 37.5 CL
BATCH 14 (blended on June 24, 2013) was distributed as follows: Type BATCH Limousine barrels with Cognac 82% New Oak barrels 11% Acacia wood 7% The aroma is dominated by cognac, with hints of flowers, plums, grapes, almond, vanilla and of course slightly burnt wood. In the background, the brewers can still distinguish the regular and well-known Quadrupel flavor. Warmth and grape fruitiness of cognac in the mouth. Then follows that of sweets. In this batch that is not disturbing at all, on the contrary, it adds an exciting element to the beer as a whole. It remains a beer and therefore has a specific bitterness. In this case it is dominated by the wood tannins. The aftertaste is oaky, malty and finally speaks of grape. A beautiful marriage of Quadrupel and Cognac from start to finish.
