La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 12 2012 - 37.5 CL
La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 12 2012 - 37.5 CL
BATCH 12 (blended on September 26, 2012) was divided as follows: Type BATCH Bourbon Whiskey barrels 91% Cognac barrels 9% Aroma: bourbon, subtle wood, plums, licorice, raisins and almonds. The distinct aroma and flavor of Quadrupel are still very much alive, but have melded with the aromas of the whiskey and cognac barrels. Drier in taste than previous batches, the body of this batch is slightly less bombastic. Again a very pronounced Bourbon aroma, albeit less prominent than the previous aroma. The taste is complex and yet quite soft (probably also because this batch has matured for 18 months). This beer produces a slight tingling sensation as it rolls over the tongue and leaves a tannic bitter and subtle smoky aftertaste.
