Hertog Jan Dubbel is a traditional dark beer with top fermentation. The term 'double' refers to the double amount of ingredients used. Hertog Jan Dubbel is tasted by all the senses, allowing you to optimally enjoy the colour, smell and taste. First you pour it into a glass and marvel at the foam and the beautiful red-brown color. Then you smell the full, soft aroma. You take a sip and taste the rich, malty character. And finally, you enjoy the slightly sweet aftertaste. This craft beer has an alcohol content of 7.3%. The secondary fermentation in the bottle provides a fresher and richer taste and aroma.
