Abbey of Berne Abt Tripel - 33 CL
Abbey of Berne Abt Tripel - 33 CL
Dark amber colored beer of high fermentation, 8% alcohol, with a beautiful soft caramel flavor from the roasted malt and warm spices that make the beer more beautiful and round and make the beer even more of a true experience. Prior Dubbel is beer that is refermented in the bottle. Berne Abdijbier is the only Dutch Norbertine beer. Berne Abbey is the oldest existing abbey in the Netherlands, dating from 1134. Already from the beginning of the abbey until the plundering in 1579, beer was brewed in old Berne. From 1639 onwards, blond and brown beer was brewed at the abbey in Heeswijk. The Berne Abdijbier Foundation has been brewing the two beers Norbertijn Blond of 6% and Prior Dubbel of 8% from September 13, 2015, and the Abt Tripel from September 18, 2016. Top-fermented beers with secondary fermentation in the bottle, brewed on a limited scale according to our own recipe by the own brewmaster of the Berne Abdijbier Foundation at a friendly abbey. The proceeds benefit the centuries-old Premonstratensian order of Berne Abbey. There was a private brewhouse on the grounds of the abbey in Heeswijk as early as 1639, which later disappeared. The intention is that in time the abbey will have its own brewhouse again. The Tasting Room is open to visitors every day and the Beer Tour starts from the Tasting Room at 2 p.m.
